Vertical stand for mini drill homemade

I was good for a vertical support to make holes with my dremel. The trade stands were either expensive, or very large, or both. So I started thinking a bit different I could do with what I had at home and this is what came out. First design in 3D Studio Max to see how things fit.

And after the rapid design to work. The list of materials that I have used is the following, although some things may not be ideal, I tried everything I could reuse:

  • A particle board (in my case 18mm thick)
  • 4 rubber purchased from the Chinese
  • 2 springs purchased at a hardware store
  • Two «slats» aluminum which was home, purchased at Leroy Merlin
  • A piece of aluminum square tube which was home, purchased at Leroy Merlin
  • 2 screws M4
  • 1 piece of which are used to hold the landing gear of the aircraft radio
  • A couple of meters nicest butt to leave the edges of the timber cut

And here an outline of how they fitted the pieces. I’ve screwed with the coach and have been all made a stone. That if either carefully cutting straight timber, and carefully screw them right square. The yellow part is the phone will stuck in the white body finish turning before this. As the hollow inside is just the width of the wood we use (and separator used a piece of the wood itself), fits perfectly with the white part of the structure fixed. And then with aluminum slats and how each could properly is the upper arm and not much mystery.

At first I thought of holding the dremel by two points, but after attaching to the top came as pressure that is clearly subject and I think it is necessary. Surely done anyway putting a fastening point near the part of the drill will not move and nothing more accurate.

After build I added a small lane in order to support parts and I will even do some milling. This can be seen in the photos. The cost of all this …. I guess it will walk for 10 to 15 € (without the dremel course). All you have at home, for that which I less and save. in my case I only had to buy the docks. And above that is small in content and saved anywhere. And here a PDF of the sizes of each piece.

And here some actual photos of the invention. The finish is not very good, but it’s done in a hurry in a couple of hours.

Otra oportunidad a Google Drive

Tras haber pasado ya unos meses desde su salida vuelvo a a darle otra oportunidad a Google Drive para respaldar mis archivos.

Hace unos meses mi experiencia dejó bastante que desear pero es lógico pensar que Google estará invirtiendo muchos recursos en este producto y por lo tanto habrá mejorado.

Así que he vuelto a pagar 4,99 $ por 100 GB de almacenamiento, de momento por un mes. He instalado de nuevo Google Drive en mi server 2008 R2 y le he metido una buena salvajada de ficheros para que suba.

Lleva casi dos días subiendo ficheros y ha respaldado ya 43 GB. Tal y como dicen por ahí es muy lento ya que dispongo de una buena conexión que da para mucho más. Pero bueno, tampoco me preocupa demasiado que sea algo lento con esta carga inicial de ficheros.

La verdad es que hasta entonces todo había ido muy bien. Esta mañana ha dado un pete la aplicación. Un error de violación de clave primaria que si no recuerdo mal era uno de los errores que me salían continuamente cuando lo probé hace tiempo.

He cerrado el programa y lo he vuelto a arrancar y a los 5 minutos ha vuelto a fallar. He repetido la operación y ahora lleva un par de horas y de momento parece que va bien.

Espero que siga respaldando ficheros y me pueda quedar con Google porque tiene unos precios infinitamente mejores que otras alternativas.

Aunque sigo viendo muchas carencias respecto a SugarSync, si al final veo que funciona bien me cambiaré ya que «la pela es la pela», aunque sea un pelín más tedioso el organizar los ficheros.

Deberían mejorar la aplicación de escritorio y que permita algo tan simple como ver que ficheros faltan por sincronizar, y con cual está actualmente.

Another opportunity to Google Drive

Having spent a few months since its release, I return to give it another shot to Google Drive to back up my files.

A few months ago my experience left much to be desired but it stands to reason that Google is investing heavily in this product, and therefore have improved.

So I’m back to paying $ 4.99 per 100 GB of storage, time for a month. I installed the new Google Drive on my server 2008 R2 and I’ve gotten a good savagery of files to upload.

For almost two days and has backed up files and 43 GB. As they say it is very slow and that I have a good connection to much more. But hey, I do not worry too much that is somewhat slow with this initial load files.

The truth is that until then everything had gone well. This morning has been a implementation pete. An error of primary key violation if I remember correctly it was one of the mistakes that I constantly when I tried it out a while.

I closed the program and I have rebooted and within 5 minutes it has failed again. I repeated the operation and now takes a couple of hours and so far looks good.

I hope you continue to support files and I can stay with Google because it has a price infinitely better than other alternatives.

Although I still see many shortcomings regarding SugarSync, if at the end I see it works well I’ll change because «need the money», albeit a tad tedious to organize files.

Should improve the desktop application and allow something as simple as seeing that missing to synchronize files, and which is currently.

Soporte vertical casero para mini taladro

Me venía bien un soporte vertical para poder hacer taldros con mi dremel. Los soportes comerciales eran o caros, o muy grandes, o las dos cosas. Así que me puse a pensar un poquillo que podía hacer con lo que tenía por casa y esto es lo que salió. Primero el diseño en 3D Studio Max para ver como encajaban las cosas.

Y tras el rápido diseño manos a la obra. La lista de materiales que yo he usado es la siguiente, aunque algunas cosas quizás no sean las ideales, intenté reutilizar todo lo que pude:

  • Un tablero de aglomerado (en mi caso de 18mm de grosor)
  • 4 patas de goma compradas en los chinos
  • 2 muelles comprados en una ferretería
  • Un trozo de tubo cuadrado de aluminio que tenía por casa, comprados en Leroy Merlin
  • Dos «listones» de aluminio que tenía por casa, comprados en Leroy Merlin
  • 2 tornillos M4
  • 1 pieza de las que se usan para sujertar los trenes de aterrizaje de los aviones de radiocontrol
  • Un par de metros de cantonera para dejar más bonitos los cantos de las maderas cortadas

Y aquí un esquema de como van encajadas las piezas. Yo las he atornillado con tirafondos y ha quedado todo hecho una piedra. Eso si, con cuidado de cortar bien rectas las maderas, y con cuidado de atornillarlas bien a escuadra. La parte amarilla que es la móvil va metida en el cuerpo blanco, antes de terminar de atornillar este. Como el hueco de dentro tiene justo el ancho de la madera que usemos (ya que se usa de separador un trozo de la propia madera), ajusta perfectamente a la parte blanca y fija de la estructura. Y luego con los listones de aluminio y como cada uno buenamente pueda se hace el brazo superior y no tiene mucho más misterio.

En un principio pensé en sujetar la dremel por dos puntos, pero tras sujetarlo al superior entró tan a presión que queda muy bien sujeta y creo que no es necesario. De todas formas seguramente termine poniéndole un punto de sujeción cerca de la parte de la broca para que no se mueva nada y sea más precisa.

Tras construirla le añadí un pequeño carril para poder apoyar piezas y que me permitirá incluso hacer algunos fresados. Esto se puede ver en las fotos. El coste de todo esto….pues supongo que andará por los 10-15 € (sin contar la dremel claro). Todo lo que tengáis por casa, pues eso que os ahorráis. en mi caso solo tuve que comprar los muelles. Y sobretodo que tiene un tamaño muy contenido y se guarda en cualquier lugar. Y aquí un PDF con los tamaños de cada pieza.

Y aquí unas fotos reales del invento. El acabado no es muy bueno, pero está hecho a toda prisa en un par de horas.

Trying Google Drive

Well, I’m after finding perfect backup system.

Some time ago I hired SugarSync space and the truth is I am very happy. Currently I have 50 GB worth my time that I have not any complaint about the application. I still miss that can sync folders of removable drives, but even without that gives many turns to the other systems.

Yesterday I started to try Google Drive and good, still has a major drawback with respect to SugarSync, and everything has to be centralized in a folder. On the other hand the price difference is very big so I have launched to try one month.

I Contrado 100 GB for $ 4.99 / month and we’ll see. With SugarSync 50GB I said I got by, but really if I had more space might make backup more.

But I found a problem and in my server (Windows Server 2008) I do not get the desktop application installed. Really installed if installed, but when you login remains indefinitely in a «Please wait …»

That if I is a problem as there are parts that come from the server backup and if the application does not work because not enough for me. For example do I backup the entire folder «wwwroot» or daily backups of MySQL or SQLServer.

EDIT: The solution is to add to Internet Explorer Secure sites domains «https://drive.google.com» and «https://accounts.google.com»

Knowing that is Google is to be put batteries and must be given time. It is a product that just released and I’m sure that will come subsequent updates with new features and bug fixes.

For now I continue with SugarSync, but when I work in the Server surely pass me Google Drive. It has fewer features, but the price is much less.

Probando Google Drive

Pues yo sigo tras la búsqueda del sistema perfecto de backup.

Hace tiempo contraté espacio con SugarSync y la verdad es que estoy muy contento. Actualmente tengo 50 GB que de momento me valen y no tengo ningún tipo de queja sobre la aplicación. Sigo echando en falta que se puedan sincronizar carpetas de unidades extraibles, pero aún sin eso le da mil vueltas a los otros sistemas.

Ayer empecé a probar Google Drive y bueno, sigue teniendo una gran pega con respecto a SugarSync, y es que todo tiene que estar centralizado en una carpeta. Por otro lado la diferencia de precio es muy grande así que me he lanzado a probarlo un mes.

He contrado 100 GB por 4,99$ / mes y ya veremos. Con los 50 GB de SugarSync he dicho que me apañaba, pero realmente si tuviese más espacio podría hacer backup de más cosas.

Pero me he encontrado con un problema y es que en mi server (Windows Server 2008) no consigo instalar la aplicación de escritorio. Realmente instalarse si se instala, pero a la hora de hacer login se queda indefinidamente en un «Espera por favor…»

Esto si que me supone un problema ya que hay partes del backup que provienen del server y si no funciona la aplicación pues no me vale. Por ejemplo hago backup de toda la carpeta «wwwroot», o de los backups diarios de MySQL o SQLServer.

EDITADO: La solución es agregar a los sitios seguros de Internet Explorer los dominios “https://drive.google.com” y “https://accounts.google.com”

Sabiendo que es Google se que se pondrán las pilas y hay que darles tiempo. Es un producto que acaban de sacar y estoy seguro de que vendrán sucesivas actualizaciones con nuevas funciones y bugs corregidos.

De momento sigo con SugarSync, pero en cuanto me funcione en el Server seguramente me pase a Google Drive. Tiene menos funciones, pero el precio es mucho menos.
